Hi,
I'm currently building my field recording/wildlife rig. I have a matched pair of B&K4006s and wonder if anyone has experience of using these in the field. Should I hold on to them or sell them and replace with something else?
My current arsenal includes:

Sennheiser 416 and ME66 with K-6.
Telinga parabola with stereo dat mic.
Matched pair of AKG 414s.
Microtech Gefell UMT70S.
Rode Classic.

Any advice would be gratefully received!
Thanks
Phil.

Hello again,
Thank you for the help with the B&K 4006s.
While I'm at it.. I wonder if anyone has used a matched pair of 414s in the field for nature recording and if so .. what basket/mounts would be best to use with them?

Thanks
Phil.

I checked out the Petrol bags.. I like the look of them. I bought portabrace, but may have a look at some of petrol's other gear. Will also look into getting another charger. Good idea!http://socialsounddesign.com/questions/13731/bk-4006s-in-field-recording/13733#13733Comment by PhilboxPhilbox2012-05-06T00:09:17Z2012-05-06T00:09:17Z@iain, I bought rycote lyremounts and softie kits for them. Mounted them on a straight bar and had a wee listen to my ever bustling rhododendron bush! Really nice atmos.. and a surprising amount of detail too! They are now officially in the kit.!http://socialsounddesign.com/questions/13755/akg-414s-in-field-recording/13828#13828Comment by PhilboxPhilbox2012-05-05T09:48:51Z2012-05-05T09:48:51ZThanks Matt,
I have actually just taken the plunge yesterday and ordered a M/S rig consisting of MKH 40+30. I have the AKGs from my old studio.. they're a lovely matched pair and I just wondered if they would be of any use in the field. I'll keep them warm for indoors rec.!!
Cheers
