Hello. Apologies in advance for the generality of this question, but has anyone here had experience using one of these before?

I have recently acquired a secondhand unit, and would like to know of others' experiences with it. (They appear to be quite uncommon, noting how few Google search results appear and so on. I thought that if any group of people might have encountered them...)
