I'm not selling anything, rather giving stuff away for free!!! Come check out my site here. This is not a promotion, I am interested in feedback on the post on the top of the page about Transformers.

The idea of my new blog is that I make sounds that I have recorded or created digitally at 24 bit/ 96kHz available for download. In turn, I hope to receive some feedback, and I hope that people might manipulate my recordings and post something back with information on how they did what they did. Sound like fun? Go check it out and leave a comment!

@bpert,

Nice job on the new blog! Enjoy the layout very much (Wordpress is really, really great). The sounds are fun, too -- I liked the bracelet stuff more than the Reaktor stuff, but that's just me. I think I'm more of a "microphone and recorder" sound designer than an "in the box" type.

Keep it up! Looking forward to hearing more of your experiments.

PS. You've got some great equipment at your disposal, so don't wait to record stuff - just get out there and do it! (now if only I could take my own advice! sigh)

It feels great to get some feedback from someone with your experience and credits. As soon as my mics arrive, there will be alot more recordings posted up. I tried to do some outdoor recordings with the mics I have with poor results. I can give about 25 dB of gain before the noise floor becomes extremely noticeable. Luckily I only have to wait a week more... So stay tuned! – bpert Aug 13 2010 at 15:37
Looking forward to it --- – Jay Jennings Aug 13 2010 at 16:09

Flange and amplitude modulation is your friend :). I haven't used Reaktor but try setting your flange depth to zero and adding in some pink noise and filter sweeping it.

I'd love to know what settings built those awesome Transformers-influenced sounds (I have 3x v1.8, and I've been playing with it... it's awesome). You didn't happen to save them, did you? And, if so, any chance I could get some screen shots?

I saved some of the patches as I tweaked, but most of the sounds came from modifying those patches. When I get a chance I will post up the presets that I did end up saving for you to play around with. – bpert Aug 15 2010 at 15:50

Chosen colours on your site just broke my eyes. Make it more visually pleasant...
