What would I need to a reality TV show? I have already recorded for a pilot, it was low budget so I had access to a rifle mic and a lapel. The TV pilot is about bands so when it came to recording the bands performance in a pub I used my mixer and laptop to get the buzz track of them playing, I had to man the mixer and it was plugged into the amp and another to the microphine to the singers (this would pick up the drums as well as the vocalist. I relied on the onboard microphones on the sony Z1's with the hopes that I would have enough choice in terms of sound recordings.

Because it's reality TV and a pilot the sound wont be perfect but it will be acceptable?

I recieve the edit tomorrow and I'm dreading the recordings because we were recording straight to tape so playback was impossible.
